Walking Disaster -Jamie McGuire ARC

About: (from goodreads) How much is too much to love? Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder. In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. Just when he thought he was invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees. Every story has two sides. In Jamie McGuire's New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster Abby had her say. Now it's time to see the story through Travis's eyes.

My review: Walking Disaster (Beautiful, #2)Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Thanks to NetGalley for sending me a ARC of Walking Disaster (Beautiful #2) by Jamie McGuire.
This was a book I could not wait to read and it didn't disappoint! If you haven't read book #1 Beautiful Disaster you really should.

Ever hear the saying their at two sides to every story, well this is what we have here: book 1 is the story told from Abby's POV and book 2 is Travis's POV

These characters are both different as they are the same, on the surface Abby is a Straight A cardigan wearing innocent college girl.
Travis is a playboy with a legendary reputation on campus with the ladies as well as the star of illegal college fights.

In reality Abby is running from mobsters, gambling and bad parenting. This was her clean slate and the reason why she shouldn't become involved with Travis.

Travis uses sex and fighting as coping tools. His mothers death and being raised by a house of boys has left him with pent up anger which strangely only Abby can soothe.

There chemistry is hot, heavy and fast paced, they hit so many bumps in the road I advice a helmet. This was interesting reading and I couldn't put this book down and read it in one sitting. I became very invested in these characters who clearly are looking for something in each other, it could be very intense. I couldn't help but want the best for them.

I loved the writing style the author did an amazing job she gave us a deeper look into each character which was what this story needed and I enjoyed seeing Travis at his core and understanding his motives.

You will miss out on certain events while reading from Travis's POV which was explained better by Abby in book 1. I found myself looking back at Beautiful disaster more then once to get a better understanding of the story and Abby.

I have nothing bad to say! I thoroughly enjoyed this two sided story and getting to know what lay beneath the surface of these characters. I was super impressed with the writing skill and style used.

On a final note: The last chapter of this book made the book for me!!
This book fit the "new adult" genre perfectly. Must read.

Absent

I'm sorry I haven't been blog efficient these past days, we had a family loss. My father in law who had been sick for some time passed. It still came as a huge shock to us as he was receiving treatment for his illness. All I've wanted to do is spend time with my husband and kids, it's hard to explain to a 2 and 6 year old where their papi has gone.

Just when I think my son understands he asks again where is papi? I guess this is why children are so resilient. Having never been to a funeral this was a huge experience for me and one I wish never to have to repeat, well at least not for a long time.

My faith in God and that we will see him again has been a huge comfort at this time and what I've grasped onto.

Take the time each day to tell those you love that you care... Life is so short not to cherish and we never know when our path will change.

The Cat in the Hat books have always been my favorite and I enjoy sharing these great books with my kids, it's always a wonderful and fun way to learn valuable lessons. So I thought today I'd share some of my most favorite Dr Seuss quotes:

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.”

"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself, any direction you choose."

Dr. Seuss Happy Birthday!
